A new report has highlight that a new Aberdeen stadium at the city's beachfront could deliver a £1.6billion boost to the local economy over 50 years.

Dons chairman Dave Cormack , who has presented the study to the city council , has said the project could be transformational for the whole of Aberdeen and has urged city leaders to "share his ambition."

It has also highlighted the potential to safeguard over 1,100 jobs, put the city on the map for major sporting events , and addresses several key issues such as the lack of youth events and 4G pitch facilities across Aberdeen .

The report was presented to the leaders of the four largest parties - Ian Yuill, Christian Allard, Mohammad Tauqeer and Richard Brooks - at Pittodrie on Friday.
