David Beckham admits he was left "genuinely worried" when Gary Neville told him how much trouble Salford City FC were in.

The Manchester United icons formed an ownership group alongside other shareholders to acquire the League Two side earlier this year . In 2024, Neville bought businessman Peter Lim's stake and went on to form a partnership with his old United pal that eventually secured ownership of the club.

This decision was made after Neville turned to Beckham for some support , once he realised just how close the club were to financial ruin. Speaking to The Athletic in September, the former Red Devil and current Inter Miami co-owner admitted he was left seriously worried by Neville's words.
