Storm Amy is continuing to batter Greater Manchester today, with strong winds and heavy rain forecast across the region. The Met Office released another yellow weather warning for wind covering the whole of the UK this morning.

The storm is expected to cause further disruption across the weekend, with alerts for both wind and rain in place after winds of up to 100mph were forecast for Friday evening.

In Greater Manchester, there will be highs of 45mph wind gusts and a 90% chance of rain as a yellow weather warning for wind remains in place. The chance of rain will diminish over the course of the day, though wind levels remain high.

The yellow weather warning for wind came into force on Friday at 15.00 on Friday, October 3 and is due to remain in place until 23.59 today
