A Pittsburgh police detective and a homicide suspect were wounded in an exchange of gunfire in Pittsburgh’s East Hills neighborhood Friday afternoon, an incident police said started with a domestic violence incident-turned homicide hours earlier in Robinson .
The detective was hospitalized in stable condition Friday evening with a gunshot wound to the leg, authorities said.
The homicide suspect, identified late Friday as 38-year-old Stanley West, was in critical condition with gunshot wounds to his legs and lower back.
A woman who was shot earlier in Robinson was in critical condition, while a bystander from that scene was shot and killed .
