The Asase Yaa Cultural Arts Foundation lit up Bed-Stuy between Sept. 14- 20 with the 9th Annual ART IS ALIVE Festival and Block Party, a seven-day celebration of dance, music plus culture.
For the first time, the festival took place at Asase Yaa’s new headquarters, now nearing its first anniversary and drawing audiences of all ages.
Festival highlights included ten sold-out dance classes covering global styles taught by renowned instructors, a vibrant vendor marketplace featuring African fashion, Brooklyn streetwear, handcrafted art, beauty and wellness products.
