Mesa Police Department Assistant Chief Ed Wessing is under investigation for allegations of misconduct.

Wessing is being investigated for failure to obey city management policies and/or personnel rules or official city communications, according to multiple media reports.

The city of Mesa provided the following statement to the Mesa Independent regarding the investigation:

“The city does not comment on personnel matters that are under investigation. As an organization committed to ensuring a safe and respectful workplace, we take all complaints seriously and will follow established procedures to ensure due process.”
