Passenger car vehicle registrations saw a 10 per cent dip in September as the industry saw a decline in sales during the GST 2.0 transition for about 20 days.

According to Vahan data collated on October 3 at 1 pm, 2.72 lakh cars were registered in September as against 3 lakh in August.

The four-wheeler electric vehicles (4WEV) saw a 18 per cent dip in registrations in September over August.

In September, 14,616 units were registered as against 17,772 in August, according to Vahan data collated on October 3 at 1 pm.

However, there was hectic sales in the last week of the month to compensate for the dip during the two weeks, industry sources said.
