SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) -- A man has been pronounced dead after being struck by a vehicle in a crosswalk in Salt Lake City's Poplar Grove neighborhood Friday morning, according to Salt Lake City Police.

The victim is identified as Jesse Marchant, 65.

Shortly before 6:30 a.m. on Oct. 3, police received multiple calls about a man hit by a car at 2000 West 500 South, near the Salt Lake City Fleet Department in the Poplar Grove neighborhood. Multiple agencies responded and found Marchant with life-threatening injuries.

Gold Cross Ambulance took Marchant to a local hospital, where he died several hours later.
