A season for dreamers finally comes to an end: The week in baseball

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The baseball season lasts forever. It goes on day after day and game after game.

When it’s over, however, it seems like it went by in a flash. From the cool spring training mornings in the Arizona desert to the late-night subway rides from Yankee Stadium, it moves so fast that it’s undetectable until the last game of the season has been played.
