WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Home Depot in West Springfield hosted its annual fire safety event, featuring participation from local first responders and attracting over 200 children.

The event included a variety of activities such as a kids workshop, face painting, and a fly-over by a state police helicopter. Representatives from the U.S. Army, Massachusetts State Police, the fire department, and local car clubs were present to engage with the community.

"It's really about fire prevention week and we've been trying to educate the community on what we do every day to assist the locals in the town," said Home Depot store manager Tony Fiala.
