SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Springfield Public Schools has relaunched its Super Saturdays & Sundays program, aiming to provide families with resources and opportunities that enhance learning and community connection.
The program, now in its second year, kicked off with a community forum at Springfield Central Library, focusing on the theme 'Early Literacy Read to Believe.' This initiative is particularly significant in a district where students speak a wide variety of languages.
"We have 44+ languages represented in Springfield," said Rosa Valentin, Director of the MLL Program at Springfield Public Schools. "However, we have seven major languages, Spanish being the first one, Haitian-Kreyol being the second one."
