(WJW) - Dry weather persists across much of Ohio, but that hasn’t stopped the annual display of autumn colors from emerging in parts of the state.
“We have been noticing more species showcasing some fall colors a little early due to the dry conditions,” said David Parrott, fall color forester with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. “Right now, you can find hickories and pawpaws showcasing brilliant yellows and dogwoods displaying dazzling reds.”
According to the ODNR, fall foliage is nearing its peak in the far northeastern corner of the state. Elsewhere, color change is underway, with most areas reported as “changing,” and a few nearing peak conditions.
