YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) - Saturday's high school football game between Valley Christian and Columbiana was canceled after a confrontation at practice led to safety concerns.
In a release, Valley Christian says three former students showed up at football practice last night and tried to start a fight with current players.
One of them went to his car, grabbed a gun, but ran off after the head coach confronted him.
No one was hurt.
Police are still looking for that former student.
Out of caution, Valley Christian canceled Saturday's game, but says it's not canceling the rest of the season.
The school says it's taking disciplinary action and asks for prayers as the community moves forward.
