UK tourists visiting Spain have been issued several yellow weather warnings and a more severe amber warning ahead of strong winds hitting the European country.

Spanish weather agency AEMET has warned that winds of up to 80kph are set to hit parts of the country on Sunday (October 5).

The AEMET warning reads: "Maximum gusts: 80 km/h. Northerly winds affecting the northern Empordà region and northwesterly winds affecting the southern part of Tarragona."
