Personal foul penalties kept Wake Forest drives alive. A slew of other miscues led to points for the Demon Deacons. All of that culminated in an outcome that’s become all-too familiar to the Hokies.
Wake Forest capitalized whenever Virginia Tech committed a mental error. Those opportunities allowed the Demon Deacons to take the lead for good in the second quarter and hold off the Hokies’ second-half charge, 30-23, before an announced crowd of 65,632 at Lane Stadium.
