As the autumn weather settles in and the summer time fades, the time is fast approaching for the British clocks to go back once more. The time will soon be going back an hour, aligning the UK with Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) and marking the official end of British Summer Time (BST) which has provided us with the extra daylight throughout the pleasant spring and summer we enjoyed.
This annual event will take place at 2am on the last Sunday of the month on October 26. The transition from GMT to BST will see the shorter days and the longer and darker nights coming in but there is the bonus of enjoying an extra hour in bed.
The idea of daylight saving time was first introduced by America's Founding Father Benjamin Franklin in the 1700s, and again in 1907 by
