The Congress on Saturday alleged that the Election Commission had turned the special intensive revision (SIR) exercise into a political tool to help the BJP and its allies.

Pointing out alleged discrepancies in the electoral rolls in Bihar, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh asked, “Will Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar explain how 247 voters were found in a single household and why an individual’s name has appeared three times on the same booth? How are such massive irregularities surfacing in the final voter list?”
