After four games, the No. 20 Michigan football team’s aerial attack left much to be desired. Freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood was promising, but clearly learning on the job. Arguably more at fault was the pass catchers dropping the ball.

Rising from the wide receivers’ shortcomings through four weeks was the bye week, which became “opportunity week.” And rising from that week was freshman Andrew Marsh getting the nod against Wisconsin.

“We had that opportunity week and he was a guy that just kept standing out,” Michigan coach Sherrone Moore said. “He kept making plays. He kept making plays. And when a guy keeps making plays, it’s only fair to give him the opportunity, and he did that, so he earned it, and he’s going to continue to earn it.”
