It had been 679 days since Rod Moore played in Michigan Stadium. The graduate defensive back tore his ACL in March 2024 and had surgery in April. He had gone through over 17 months of rehab. He became a captain and proxy assistant coach for the entire 2024 season from the sideline. At long last, Moore made his return two weeks ago against Nebraska — but he was still fighting pain.

Saturday afternoon against Wisconsin, his first game back in the Big House, Moore finally had his welcome back moment. Snagging an interception in his first game back, Moore’s highlight play was reminiscent of 679 days prior where — on the last snap Moore played in Michigan Stadium before Saturday — he made the game-sealing interception against Ohio State.

“I can finally say I’m back,” Moore said with a smile.
