A Vermont man was arrested early Saturday after allegedly driving the wrong way on Interstate 293 in Bedford, police said.

Shortly before 1 a.m., a state trooper observed a vehicle traveling south in the northbound lanes, according to a news release from New Hampshire State Police. The trooper turned on her emergency lights and pulled the vehicle over near mile marker 3.2.

The driver, Benjamin Mueller, 36, of White River Junction, Vermont, was taken into custody. Mueller was charged with felony reckless conduct with a deadly weapon and reckless driving, the release said; he is scheduled to appear in Merrimack District Court on Nov. 4.

Nobody was hurt as a result of the incident, officials said.
