SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- Dancers of all skill levels gathered at Balleraena Dance Studios to Plié with Purpose. Doctors from Avera Health attended the event to educate people about breast cancer.
"First and foremost, I want to celebrate our breast cancer survivors and what they've been through in their walk," said Dr. Nara Judd, a breast cancer surgeon at Avera. "But also have people come away with a little bit of information knowing, get your mammogram at 40, knowing that living a healthy lifestyle can reduce your risk of breast cancer."
When Avera reached out to the dance studio about the event, owner Raena Rasmussen was quick to accept the offer.
