LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A man was arrested on Saturday afternoon after showing up to a Lexington skatepark event with a rifle and a hammer before causing a scene and running into a nearby building.
Officials with the Lexington Police Department (LPD) told FOX 56 News that just after noon on Oct. 4, officers were sent to the Berry Hill Skatepark on Buckhorn Drive in response to reports of an armed man there.
Authorities said "many juveniles" had been attending an event at the park when he walked up to a radio that was playing music, smashing it with a hammer before running into a nearby residence.
According to Lexington police, the man was barricaded in the residence for nearly an hour before eventually coming outside, where he was arrested.
