Greenwood shut down Mauldin on Friday night with a 33-10 win.

Greenwood quarterback Triston Lewis began the game with a rushing touchdown midway through the first quarter to give the Eagles the early advantage. Lewis threw for 293 yards with wo touchdown passes. He also had two rushing scores.

The Mavericks responded with a field goal toward the end of the first quarter.

Lewis started the second quarter with a pass to Thomas Chandler, who dove into the end zone.

“One of the best catches I’ve ever seen,” Greenwood coach Chris Liner said. The extra point was no good.

“We had quite a few wide receivers that had some really big plays,” Liner said.
