VERMILLION, S.D. (KELO) -- The 21st-ranked USD football team picked up a dominant 49-24 win over Murray State in its Missouri Valley Football Conference home opener.

The Coyotes scored on each of their first two drives and found the endzone five times in the first half to build a 35-7 halftime lead over the Racers. The Yotes added another score early in the third to extend the advantage to 42-7.

South Dakota compiled 568 yards of total offense and outgained Murray State 380-100 on the ground. The Coyotes averaged 8.1 yards per carry. USD went 9-for-11 on third downs.
