WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A fourth-quarter surge lifted the Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College sprint football team to a 27–20 Homecoming victory over Midway (Ky.) on Saturday at Jay Barrett Field. The Pomeroys (4-0) remain unbeaten after scoring the game’s final 14 points to erase a late deficit.
Midway struck first when quarterback Christian Carte powered in from one yard out midway through the first quarter. SMWC answered in the second as quarterback Jeremiah Tosky capped a short drive with a 1-yard touchdown run to tie it at 7–7.
The Eagles regained control with two field goals from Kadin Fitch (25, 40 yards) before halftime, giving Midway a 13–7 lead at the break.
