Aiming for a second straight win , the Charleston Southern football team suffered a 30-27 loss to Gardner-Webb when the Bulldogs made a field goal as time expired in Boiling Spring, N.C.

Charles Viorel booted the game-winner, a 48-yarder, to give Gardner-Webb a second straight win in the North-South BBQ Bowl . Viorel made three field goals in the win.

Conversely, CSU left a potential four points off the board with a missed field goal and missed extra point.

Gardner-Webb had a big day offensively with 243 rushing yards and 247 yards through the air. Quarterback Nate Hampton completed 19 of 31 passes and threw two touchdowns. Carson Grescock added 105 yards rushing.

CSU finished with 396 total yards, buoyed by Ke’Marion Baldwin ’s 175 yards rushing and three touchdowns. Zolten Osbo
