PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A driver was arrested for allegedly driving drunk and crashing into a construction zone on the Loop 101 in Phoenix on Monday.
Just before midnight, Highway Patrol Troopers responded to a crash on the westbound Loop 101 before 67th Avenue. They say a driver went through the construction barricades and destroyed the guardrail and containers of water near the continuator.
Troopers determined the driver was driving under the influence and was under the legal drinking age. The driver’s BAC was 0.131. They were arrested for DUI and later released to an adult guardian. It is not clear how old the driver is.
“Drinking under the age of 21 is illegal. Drinking and driving doubles the charges. Talk to your kids about the dangers of drinking and always find a sober ride home.
