YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) -- We are one month out from election day and just two days away from the voter registration deadline, and on Saturday night, some local organizations are getting together to spread the word.
Penguin City hosted its first-ever voter registration party. The brewing company invited candidates for city council, municipal court judge, and mayor of Youngstown. YSU Student Government and the League of Women Voters also gave out voter information.
"We all love Youngstown, we love our community," said Yadira Colyar, Penguin City tap room manager. "We've seen that the last few years was a low count as far as voting, and we just want to have young people, more people, more involved in their local government."
