A man was found stabbed to death Saturday and another man was wounded in Long Beach.

Officers responded at 10:38 a.m. Saturday to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 1300 block of Temple Avenue, Long Beach Police Department Lt. Sean Irving said.

Officers found two men with stab wounds to their upper bodies, Irving said.

Long Beach Fire Department paramedics pronounced one man dead at the scene, the lieutenant said. The other man was taken by ambulance to a hospital, where he was listed with stable vital signs.

A person of interest was detained by officers pending further investigation, Irving said.
