SEATTLE. (WILX) - The Detroit Tigers got a massive extra-innings victory in Game 1 of the ALDS over the Seattle Mariners on Saturday night.
Julio Rodriguez gave Seattle the lead first with a solo shot to center in the fourth inning, but Detroit answered back with Kerry Carpenter hitting a two-run shot to give Detroit a 2-1 lead in the fifth.
It was Rodriguez once again coming up clutch in the sixth inning with an RBI single to knot the score at two. Despite both teams having opportunities to score, the game would go tied at two into the 11th inning.
It was Zach McKinstry getting the big hit in extra innings with a single to drive in Spencer Torkelson and give Detroit a 3-2 lead.
Keider Montero came into the game in the 11th and slammed the door shut to help Detroit take the first game
