Ihave lived in three different neighborhoods in South Toledo most of my life and have witnessed many changes, positive and negative, but today I must focus on the negative. We used to have a nice Libbey High School honoring the greatest philanthropist this city has ever seen, but we tore it down. We used to have a great pool complex at Highland Park, but we filled it in and planted trees over it. We used to have a great YMCA with a pool and a gymnasium that provided both girls and boys sporting events and youth leagues, but we tore it down and replaced it with a dog park that requires a membership to use.
We used to have neighborhood businesses that employed local people and provided local services; most are boarded up now. Now I understand we will abandon the local Heights library with i
