MEDINA, Ohio – Service Director Nino Piccoli said he expects city leaf pickup will begin the second week of October, but added the decision is not yet set in stone.

“It could possibly be the week after,” he said. “It just depends on how many leaves have fallen, but those decisions will be forthcoming.”

The service department has three vacuum trucks dedicated to the program and during the course of the program, the city will be divided north and south by Smith Road. Each truck will make multiple passes moving from east to west. The third truck will float throughout the city, working in areas where the volume of leaves is particularly heavy.
