Anders Dreyer scored twice and San Diego FC cleared two impressive milestones with Saturday's 4-2 road win against Houston.
The victory is the first year club's 18th of the season, breaking St. Louis' Major League Soccer expansion record set in 2023. SDFC reached 60 points, putting them beyond LAFC - who set the previous high of 57 in 2018.
Mikey Varas' team is once again alone atop the Western Conference standings, but Vancouver has a chance to match their 60 points with a win Sunday against San Jose. Minnesota currently sits second with 58 points. SDFC and Minnesota have one match remaining this season, while Vancouver will have two more after Sunday.
The Dynamo led 1-0 after the first half. Dreyer, an MVP candidate, got the visitors level on a 53rd minute penalty kick.
