At least 14 people have tragically lost their lives in landslides caused by torrential rains in eastern Nepal's Koshi province, according to reports since Saturday night. Five fatalities were reported in Manebhanjyang of Suryodaya municipality in Ilam district, while others were accounted for in Pategaun, Mansebung, Deuma, Dhusuni, Ratmate, and Ghosang areas.

The Nepal Army has taken immediate action, sending a helicopter for rescue efforts and deploying troops to the affected locations. However, these critical operations face challenges due to ongoing inclement weather conditions.

The monsoon rains are affecting five of Nepal's seven provinces, including Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini, exacerbating the situation and raising concerns for continued efforts.
