There are calls for a new so-called Kneecap Law in the UK. Lord Walney has argued "a nti-British" must "be banned from getting any taxpayer-funded grants".
Walney says extremism will continue to "infect our communities" unless tougher action is taken. Discussing the Irish rap trio, Lord Walney said: "If we are going to defeat the extremism infecting our communities, we have to stop dishing out grants to people who hate our country."
A court last year overruled the government so Kneecap were allowed to keep a £14,250 grant. The Conservative Party government had originally blocked funding from the Music Export Growth Scheme.
