Birmingham City have been tipped to reignite their interest in Aston Villa playmaker Emi Buendia as they look to tick off one of their transfer objectives in January.

Speculation is mounting that Blues are keen on the former Norwich City man over a potential move in the New Year as they look to challenge for promotion to the Premier League.

But the situation is complex given the rivalry between the two clubs and not to mention that Buendia is back in the fray at B6 after making eight appearances this season following a loan spell with Bayer Leverkusen last term.

He has scored in his last two games, wins over Feyenoord and Fulham in the Premier League, which suggests he is not going to be out of Unai Emery's thoughts anytime soon.
