Bargarh: Several banned items were seized during surprise raids across three jails in Odisha’s Bargarh district on Sunday morning.

The operation was carried out under the direct supervision of Bargarh SP at the district jail here. Simultaneous raids were also conducted at Padampur sub-jail under the supervision of the SDPO, and at Sub-Jail Sohela under the supervision of the Additional SP. ADVERTISEMENT

Several banned items, including bidis, bhang, and matchboxes, were recovered from the premises of the jails.

Officials said the seized contraband will be destroyed as per proper legal procedures.
