A Supreme Court writ petition challenging Telangana’s 42% reservation for BCs has put the State government in a fix. With two related cases pending in the High Court, uncertainty looms over the quota’s implementation and the schedule for local body polls.
Hyderabad: In the wake of a writ petition filed in the Supreme Court challenging the State government’s order extending 42 per cent reservations to Backward Classes (BCs) , BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar met Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and apprised him of the latest developments.
Later, the Minister held a meeting with Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, AICC in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan, and TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud to discuss the implications of the petition.
