Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi paid homage to Shaheed Veer Baji Rout, the youngest martyr in India’s freedom struggle, on his birth centenary.

The Chief Minister, along with Speaker Surama Padhy, MLA Babu Singh, and other leaders, offered floral tributes at Baji Rout’s statue near the Odisha Assembly Hall.

Taking to social media, Majhi wrote,

“Heartfelt greetings to Shaheed Veer Baji Rout, who created history by sacrificing his life for the country at the tender age of 12.”

The Chief Minister highlighted that Baji Rout’s sacrifice, dedication, and patriotism hold a special place in glorifying Odisha.

A state-level Jayanti ceremony will be held in the martyr’s native village, Nilakanthpur in Dhenkanal. Chief Minister Majhi will attend the event following a wreath-laying cerem
