PITTSBURGH —

Police and SWAT were on scene for hours early Sunday morning after a man barricaded himself inside of home in the city's Perry South neighborhood.

Police say the man allegedly made threats toward police.

SWAT operators and negotiators spent much of the morning working to get the man to surrender.

According to Pittsburgh public safety officials, the suspect and another male from inside of the home were taken into custody just before 7 a.m.

The suspect faces multiple charges.

SWAT operators are doing a protective sweep of the home to ensure there are no additional threats to the area.
