CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - 44-year-old Syrita Jeffries was shot and killed in 2022 in California. Her sister, Nicole Richardson, is fighting to prevent other families from experiencing her pain.

The Columbus resident made the trip to Cleveland to continue her mission.

“Now we all have been impacted in more ways than one because one of our family members are no longer here because of gun violence,” said Richardson

It’s the annual Ohio Policy retreat. The group has your safety in mind.

It hopes to update the Safe at Home Law here in Ohio. The law currently shields the home address of victims of violent sexual crimes, human trafficking, and stalking. They also hope to expand that to gun violence victims similar to Syrita and protect families like Nicole.
