A man is due to appear in court after police reportedly seized cocaine worth over £4,000 in Middlesbrough . Police said officers also recovered a quantity of cannabis, phones and over £1,000 in cash.

The items were found after a man was stopped by officers on patrol in the St Barnabas Road area. Cleveland Police said it followed complaints about drug dealing in the area.

The man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, on suspicion of possession of Class B drugs and on suspicion of possession of criminal property. The 33-year-old was due to appear before Teesside Magistrates' Court on Saturday, October 4.
