Two are dead and fourteen are injured after a mass shooting in downtown Montgomery while the city was hosting and funding an HBCU.
The shooting happened at the corner of Bibb and Commerce Street at 11:30 p.m. The city of Montgomery was hosting and funding the HBCU Classic which included free beer on Friday and a Ferris wheel downtown. The Tuskegee-Morehouse Classic took place at the Cramton Bowl at 6 p.m. Saturday.
Montgomery Police Chief James Graboys said three of the twelve injuries from the mass shooting are life-threatening.
Graboys said at a press conference after the incident that the mass shooting involved two parties shooting with a crowd in between but couldn’t release further details.
