The United Kingdom and India have launched Exercise Konkan, a high-profile naval exercise featuring aircraft carriers and advanced warships from both nations. This year’s iteration of the bilateral Exercise marks a historic first—the simultaneous deployment of both nations’ Carrier Strike Groups at sea.

“Whilst the Exercise has been biennial since 2004, it marks the first time in history that a British and Indian Carrier Strike Group will conduct a maritime exercise together,” the British High Commission said in its statement.
