GRAND FORKS — The job market around Grand Forks has slowly shrunk since last year, according to Job Service data, but many residents are still using local job fairs to try and find employment that fits their experience and skills.

The most recent Online Job Openings Report from Job Service ND shows there were over 13,000 job openings in the state as of August. Almost 1,600 of those openings are located in Region 4, which includes Grand Forks County.

“I would say it’s slowing a little bit, but not like we’re seeing in other parts of the country,” said Dustin Hillebrand, workforce center manager at Job Service ND.
