HOUSTON (KIAH) — Sunday should be another warm and sunny day with a possible thunderstorm in the afternoon in the Houston area.

Temperatures will continue to be very warm, with highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s, with Katy seeing highs in the mid-90s.

On the coast, a rip current statement is in effect until Sunday night, with a high risk of strong rip currents. A coastal flood advisory is in effect until Sunday evening for the Barrier Islands as water levels may climb to as much as four feet about Mean Low Low Water.

That could cause minor low-lying streets may begin on the west end of Galveston, Highway 124 between High Island and FM 1985 may begin to flood, and the lowest streets in Jamaica Beach may begin to flood.
