A biker who was nearly killed in a horror crash after his brakes failed has reunited with the hero a ir ambulance teams who helped to save his life. ‌

Gary Viljoen was driving his motorcycle with a friend in Dollar, Sti when the terrifying malfunction took place in April this year. ‌

It caused the father to crash into a tree with speed, leaving him significantly injured. ‌

His friend promptly dialled 999 and a team of Scottish Ambulance Service paramedics, advanced practitioners and an Emergency Medical Retrieval Service (EMRS) team scrambled to the scene.

Gary was airlifted to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital ( QEUH ) in Glasgow, where he spent four months in a coma.
