CHICAGO (WLS) -- All outbound lanes reopened on Sunday, nearing the finish line of the three-year Kennedy Reconstruction Project, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.

IDOT said all mainline lanes reopened on Sunday.

The grand news puts the project on pace to finish before the Thanksgiving deadline, IDOT said.

The reversible express lanes scheduled to resume "normal operations" by 5 a.m. on Monday.
