The Blue Jays have changed their lineup around for Game 2, with left-hander Max Fried on the mound for the Yankees.
Left-handed hitters Addison Barger and Nathan Lukes are on the bench, as is switch-hitter Anthony Santander, with right-handed batters Davis Schneider, Myles Straw and Isiah Kiner-Falefa getting the starts in their place.
It will be Schneider’s first career playoff appearance. The fan favourite muscled his way into the lineup by hitting .357 with a 1.051 OPS in August, though he slipped back in September, going 7-for-41 with only one extra-base hit.
Schneider will play left field, providing a major defensive upgrade on Santander, who was there to start Game 1. Straw will be in right.
Kiner-Falefa, the former Yankee, gets the start at second base with Ernie Clement shift
