Louisiana State Police are investigating two overnight fatal crashes that occurred in East Feliciana and Ascension Parish.

The first was a single-vehicle crash that occurred around 11 p.m. Saturday on U.S. 61 south of LA 964 in Jackson, a town in East Feliciana Parish. Responding state troopers found 35-year-old Sentoria Roundtree, of St. Francisville, dead at the scene. Authorities say Roundtree was the front passenger in a 2020 Toyota RAV4 that was traveling south on U.S. 61, when the vehicle drove off the roadway into a ditch, striking a culvert.

Both Roundtree and the driver were not wearing seatbelts, state police say. The driver was also seriously injured and taken to a hospital. Authorities do not yet know if the driver was impaired.
